More eyes to watch for. Or is that watch out for? Why paint eyes? They are so varied yet made up of the same basic ingredients.

I have had a lifelong fascination with eyes. There is something about the look of them, or the way they are gazing that continues to amaze me. I find myself staring at eyes to the point of rudeness sometimes. So I thought I would have some fun and paint a few for a change.

One of life's most fantastic experiences has to be cruising the Inside Passage on a small ship. Take your time and really explore this beautiful region. The scenery is ever changing and very wild for the most part. This painting was done from a sketch I made while on the M/V Snow Goose from Bellingham to Prince Rupert.

West Beach

Acrylic on Copper Sheet 6" x 8" or 15cm x 20cm

This was an experiment trying a new media combination. So I used a slightly warped board for this and now am sorry as I really like the way it turned out. Why is it that the experiments are sometimes the best work? Perhaps it is because I relax and just paint rather than over analyzing what I am doing and have more fun? Just another mystery of life. After this is thoroughly dry, I will put it in the freezer for the temperature shock test to see if it will survive shipping okay.
